*breath of relief*

The papers are all finished. I just wrapped up the last one (writing in notepad, of course, since the lab is closed). All I have to do is print the 3 I haven't turned in (I turned in 2 early!) and take 3 finals, and then I'm done! I packed all of my stuff today too... all I have to do is throw the things I use for the next 2 days in my carry-on.

So you know what that means... coming home the day after tomorrow! It's about time!!

I wasted an hour and a half of my life today.

The computer lab is supposed to open at 10a on the weekends. I woke up at 9:30, had breakfast, and headed down to work on my papers. I waited (with a few other people) until the IT Centre guy finally showed up for work at 11:20. We kept going upstairs to the reception to see if he called in sick or late, and they never heard from him. I think someone said something about emailing his supervisor. Either way, I didn't get started on stuff until an hour and a half late, and I bet they won't be staying open an hour and a half later tonight.
*New note: They actually ARE staying open until 7:30! I guess enough people complained!*

And the other day, Monday, the library closed at 6p instead of 11p because they 'didn't have enough staff'. Okay, I understand that things happen, but this is the week before finals. Come on now. I don't feel like having my grades compromised by their ignorant staff.

Oh, and since Monday is a public holiday here, both the library and computer labs will be closed all day. Go figure.

So the group of us girls are supposed to have a picnic in Regent's Park tonight... and I don't really want to go. At all. I have to keep hacking away at these papers, and I'm not too enthused about a picnic with the bitch. Or a picnic in general... it's chilly today. Oh well. I'll decide.

But, on the brighter side, I made an awesome new friend. We've been having CSI marathons lately. I'm just loving staying out of the bitch's way. And having a common interest with somebody.

Oh! I never posted it! I told a couple people through email... but here's a new bitch story for you:

All last week I was feeling stuffed up from allergies or everyone being sick from the changing weather or whatever... anyways, didn't feel well. She was gone last weekend to Liverpool with Kelly. When Terry mailed me my pillow a couple months back, I let Kristine use mine from the school, but I wanted to prop up my head so I would stop getting gunk in my throat when I slept, so while she was gone I took back my pillow. For a couple days she kept taking it off my bed, and I would just take it back. Finally I was sick of it so I asked her nicely if I could have my pillow back since I was sick. She, of course, threw a fit and refused. So I went and found my RA and asked if they had spare pillows anywhere since my roommate wouldn't give me mine. I told her the whole story and she went and talked to Kristine. She told me later that she couldn't force her to give it to me, but she knew what I meant about having such a childish roommate and was sorry I got stuck with a bitch. Her exact words... she called her one.  Anyways, she got me a new pillow from the supply closet, and now my cold feels better.

4 days til I fly home!!!!!!! Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Two dilemmas:

1. What the hell do I do with the remaining pack of cigarettes that I have? I don't think I could smoke them all, possibly a couple, but the smell tends to make me sick. I could give them to friends that are smokers. I could take them home with me, but I wouldn't use them there either. I could pitch them, but that's just wasting money.

2. Am I allowed to act like a 5-year-old for the next 2 weeks because Kristine is? Here's why - actual conversation that took place at 12:05am:

Me - Kristine, it's after midnight, I would appreciate it if you got off the phone.
Her - Ugh, I know that! *starts throwing items around on her desk*
Me - What is your problem? (hoping to get a sincere answer... yeah right)
Her - I really wish you would stop acting like that!
Me - Acting like what? *mouth likely gaping in amazement by this point*
Her - Omigod, Jim, would you believe this bitch? *mocking* 'I'd appreciate if you'd get off the phone!' *slams door*

Can I act like a 5-year-old whining, tantrum-throwing brat too? Please? It would be fun! If I devote the next 2 weeks to intentionally making her mad (although, I seem to do it well by doing nothing at all), I would have sooo much fun!

Pardon me while I rant...

Argh!! I'm so sick of people in my classes that don't read the assigned homework and don't participate in discussion groups! I mean, come on, these are junior and senior level English classes, you have to be able to take some amount of responsibility. Grrr.... this would never happen at Webster. I miss my home campus if only for that reason. There's nothing wrong with the teachers (yeah Alan Hurst!) or material here, it's the stupid people. There are too many.

I guess on the same topic... it's with these same kinds of people that some of us had an interesting discussion a few days back on a break between classes... two girls were asking why they need to 'grow up' so quickly, they should just be able to enjoy college life (aka drinking and parties). Not saying there's anything wrong with having fun, but if it's your junior year of college and you still don't see a need to 'grow up' anytime soon, I think there may be something wrong.

On Friday all of us girls went down to Greenwich, and we had a blast! We took a boat from Tower Hill that took us straight there. Once we were in town we went straight to the Royal Observatory and went to stand in two hemispheres at the same time. It was raining all morning, and I went to show someone how to use my camera to take a picture of all of us straddling the line, and as I went back to join the group, I slipped on the wet pavement and fell right on my ass! How many other people can say they've fallen on their asses on the Prime Meridian?

So anyways, we continued by touring the Observatory, then eating lunch. After that, we split up for a while and I went to the National Maritime Museum, which was fun. Then we went to the Queen's House, which had an interesting photography exhibit about the British and Irish coastlines. Then we went to the Greenwich markets before heading home on the boat again.

Yesterday we intended to eat dinner at the cute little Dutch pancake house on Holborn that Terry and I ate at, but when we got there, they were closed either for good or just remodeling. Either way, I'm craving a pancake! Wagamama's just didn't do it for me.

So then everyone decided to have a game night. The plan was to use Kelly and Nicole's room since it's the biggest, but Nicole was sleeping. My room is the next-largest, but I told Kelly and Kristine that I was only going to play one game because I wanted to read for a while and I was expecting Terry to call. But since I'm nice, I said to go ahead and play since Mandy and Karla's room is tiny. Nicole eventually woke up and joined the game, but no one moved to the other room. So once Terry called, I sat out in the hallway and talked to him and then read my book. I was sitting out there for about 2 hours. Yeah, I'm a nice person and didn't want to rain on the parade, but I thought it was a little rude. Oh well. No pancakes, and boring hallway. Not a fun day yesterday.

But on the bright side, it's only 16 days until I come home! Oh, and the tickets came in the mail the other day... Terry you haven't lost them yet right?!?!?
